Buy last minute and forgotten items at Academy in Midland (5300 W Wadley Ave (at W Loop 250 N), Midland 432-522-6000) open 'til 9PM

Food shakedown, trail mix distribution

Go out for dinner in town

Drive 4.5 hours to Panther Junction, Big Bend National Park

Your bag(s) with personal items will be set aside and left in vehicles or a storage unit

Pick up backcountry and parking permits

Drive to the Chisos Basin

Hike 3.3 miles on the Laguna Meadow Trail

Camp at Laguna Meadow. Total 3.3 miles

Note: Water is uncertain in this area. We may need to carry 2 gallons of water from Chisos Basin

Hike 5.0 miles to the Northeast Rim Trail

Hike 0.8 miles to Boot Spring Area, Total 9.9 Miles

Water is unreliable at Boot Spring, but as of October 5th, it is running reliably.
